The Schram Academy is based in Chennai (Madras) the capital of Tamil Nadu on the East Coast of South India.
The main campus in Maduravoyal is strategically situated at the intersection of Poonamallee High Road (that becomes the highway to Bangalore) and the Bypass, a Ring Road connecting western and southern suburbs of Chennai which facilitates access to several major existing and developing residential areas, commercial centers, medical and other educational facilities.
The KG campus is located in Anna Nagar an established upscale residential area in West Chennai. The new campus in Nolumbur, a few minutes away from the main campus in Maduravoyal, is conveniently accessible on the periphery of a planned and rapidly expanding neighborhood of villas and luxury apartment complexes favored by academic, medical and business professionals.
TSA provides door-to-door transport on request to parents living within a 20 km radius of the school. A fleet of cars, minivans and school buses transports about 400 children each morning and afternoon to and from their homes. Communting times vary on average from 15-45 minutes each way. Chaperones accompany the children in all TSA vehicles.

Background on Chennai
Chennai, formerly known as Madras, is the capital city of the state of Tamilnadu in South India. Chennai is the fourth largest city in India with a population of about 10 million people. It is located on a 17 KM stretch along the Coramandel coast on the Bay of Bengal. The city has three waterways namely Cooum, Adyar and the Buckingham Canal which run through it. Chennai is a growing city full of life.
Chennai is the gateway to the South of India and it presents its distinct culture. Music, dance and other forms of art are part of the everyday life of the Chennaites. Though industrialized, it maintains its traditional way of life blended with modernism. Chennai offers a wealth of nature and a rich historic past to visitors.
Present day Chennai grew from a small village called Madraspatnam. It was selected by the early English merchants of the East India Company for trade. St. Thomas, the Apostle of Jesus Christ, is believed to have come to Madras during 52 AD. He was martyred in 78 AD on a mount, now called the St. Thomas Mount, a city suburb. The gothic-style cathedral is built above the tomb of St. Thomas.
Marina beach, reputed to be the second longest beach in the world, is the pride of Chennai. The tombs of the late Chief Ministers Anna and MGR are located on Marina beach and attract thousands of visitors everyday. Beautiful buildings of the University of Madras, Senate House, Chepauk Palace, Presidency College, Ice House, etc are located on the Marina beach drive.
Valluvar Kottam is a chariot-shaped monument built in memory of the Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar having a life-size statue of Thiruvalluvar installed in it.
The headquarters of the world Theosophical Society is located in Adyar which facilitates the comparative study of world religions and philosophy. It was found by Madame Blavatsky and Col. Olcott in the USA which later moved to Adyar in 1862.
Elliot's beach is a splendid place for relaxation. Velankanni Church and the Ashtalakshmi temple are located at the southern end of the beach.
Kalakshetra, the Temple of Art, is located in Thiruvanmiyur, a part of Chennai. It was founded by Rukmini Devi Arundale to revive the classical dance, Bharathanatyam. It is run on an ancient Gurukulam system. Kalakshetra conducts music recitals and dance performances in different parts of Chennai.
Fort St.George is a prominent place in Chennai. The British East India Company built it in 1640 AD. It houses the St.Mary's Church and the Fort Museum where rare exhibits of weapons, uniforms, coins, costumes, medals and other artifacts dating back to the British period are displayed.
The Anna Zoological Park has safari rides, an animal house, aquarium and natural museum.
The Government Museum includes the National Art Gallery, Gallery of Contemporary Arts and Children's Museum in the Museum Complex.
The Birla Planetarium, Deer Park, Children's Park and a Snake Park are other places of interest.
Chennai is well connected by air, rail and highways. The airport is located at Meenambakkam which is about 15-20 KM from Anna Nagar, Nolumbur, Maduravoyal and the city. Several major international carriers offer nonstop flights directly to Chennai: from London, Frankfurt, Brussels, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and several cities in the Middle East -- and all others via Mumbai (Bombay) or Delhi.
There are express and regular train services connecting Chennai with major cities and towns of India. Central Station handles traffic to the northern and western parts of India and Egmore Station to the south.
