Backing group of John Lamers (1960-1966), they had many singles out on CNR records. The group recorded only 2 instrumental singles. John Lamers started a succesful solo career in 1966 (EMI/Bovema). CEES & HIS SKYLINERS had a vocal (Dutch) single out in 1969 on Delta records and disbanded in 1972.

The Indo-Rock band THE ROCKING YINGS existed from 1960-1962 in Amsterdam-West with the following band members:

Don Sigarlaki (bass gt.)
Coen Couwenberg (rhythm gt.)
Raul de Groen (drums)
Guus Manuputi (voc.)

Don & Ed Sigarlaki + Coen Couwenberg emigrated in 1962 to Ontario, California. In California they formed a new group CONRAD (= Coen) & THE HURRICANE STRINGS with Pat (Patrick) Couwenberg on drums. Indo-rock goes surf! In 1963 they cut 2 compositions of Ed Sigarlaki in Cucamonga, California. The single was one of FRANK ZAPPA's early recording endeavors as a producer. A snipet from beginning of Hurricane was used on Frank Zappa's album 'Lumpy Gravy'. The record + picture of the group was included in "The Illustrated Discography of Surf Music 1961-1965" compiled by John Blair (Jon & The Nightriders). In the mid 60s they changed their name in SOUNDS UNLIMITED and Ed & Don Sigarlaki are still together after all those years. Also Ed Wannee original member form The Rocking Yings is playing in the group. In California they did shows together with Indo-Rock legends like Franky Luiten, Lydia Tuinenburg, Robbie Boekholt, Oscar Rexhauser and Jim Pownall. In 1995 they played together with ANDY TIELMAN.

One of the most popular groups of the Indo-Rock scene form The Hague. They started in June 1961 with Harry Berg (lead gt. -ex drums The Real Room Rockers), Woody Brunings (rhythm gt.), Eddy Chatelin (2d lead,rhythm gt.), Pim Veeren (bass -ex Rocking Sensation Boys, René & Alligators), Sydney Rampersadt (drums, voc.). Woody and Sydney were born in Suriname and Pim Veeren was a Dutch boy. Our first multi-cultural rock group! The group played with great success in German clubs and even THE BEATLES admired the group on stage in Hamburg. With Franky Franken they toured Scandinavia in 1965. Their manager Jos van Vliet was very active. He arranged a very good record contract for DELTA records and organized shows in Scheveningen (Sheherazade)

The Crazy Rockers

In 1961 played THE NEW HURRICANE ROLLERS - Franky Franken (lead gt./voc.), Hans Bax (rhythm gt.), Peter Theunissen (bass), Gerard Buskop (piano), .Tommy Chuo (drums), Walter Köhn (sax) - in the Weindorf + Havanna club at Frankfurt and their manager Carson Holmes arranged a 3 months' contract for the band in Israël. In Tel-Aviv they had to change their name in THE CRAZY STRANGERS and also some tracks were recorded for Ron-Ly. Back in Germany they started playing as THE JAVALINS, only Tommy Chuo was replaced by Robbie Latuperissa.
